That’s the beauty of Ministry Shares. About six dollars a week from each active, adult member enables all of us to participate in life-changing ministry, at home and around the world. Ministry Shares is powered by a simple commitment to be a part of something bigger. When your church faithfully contributes about $300 per year per member, God multiplies. A brilliant idea from the start. It wasn't always called "Ministry Shares," but since 1862, a need was recognized in the newly formed Christian Reformed Church of North America to pool resources in order to do ministry in whatever part of the world God may call. As it turns out, it's an amazingly efficient system with low overhead costs that lets 85 cents of every dollar go directly to ministry. The "giving-to-a-common-pool" concept saves an estimated $3-4 million in fundraising costs typically spent to raise an amount equal to what Ministry Shares yields. The practical result is that every member of the CRC can participate in global ministry, regardless of personal financial ability. Ministry Shares: it's a beautiful thing.
