Sept. 14, 2008 ~ Sunday School begins @ 10:45 AM!

Adult classes are an important part of our Sunday School!  These classes run September through May each year.                                           

 Growth is the goal of the Christian.  Maturity is mandatory.  If a child ceased to develop, the parent would be concerned, right?  When a Christian stops growing, help is needed.  If you are the same Christian you were a few months ago, be careful.  You might be wise to get a checkup.  Not on your body, but on your heart. Not a physical, but a spiritual.  Why don’t you check your habits?

Make these four habits regular activities and see what happens:     

First, the habit of prayer…Second, the habit of study…Third, the habit of giving… And last of all, the habit of fellowship.

NEW Integrated Sermon Series!

Beginning on the first day of Sunday School, September 14, Pastor Dave will begin five weeks of messages on discipleship.  The sermon topics and worship plans will be coordinated with the material for one of our adult Sunday School classes and for our high school class.  This material was written by Kirsty De Pree & Leonard Vander Zee and published by Faith Alive, our denominational publishing house. 

 Once again this year we will have two Adult Sunday School classes.  -One will be a study of the book of Joshua, an ongoing series of studies working through the Old Testament portion of the Bible.  Bruce McMurray will be leading this study.  The other class that will be offered is entitled Discipleship.  This study will focus on what the Bible says about being Disciples of Christ.  What do we do?  How should we act?  What is a disciple?  The format of the study will loosely follow a series of sermons that Pastor Dave will be preaching on Discipleship.  Scott Kooiman will lead this study.

Pastor Dave will also be using the Discipleship materials to lead a Sunday evening Bible study from Sept. 14 to Oct. 12.
