SPECIAL EVENTS at Faith Community CRC
Check out our links to Christian events, concerts & theater in our area.
At this time it is unclear whether or not additional volunteers will be needed for CRWRC's (Christian Reformed World Relief Committee) response to the earthquake in Haiti. Those who are interested in volunteering should direct their inquiries to Carol Sybenga at 1-800-730-3490 or e-mail volunteer@crcna.org. Financial contributions for CRWRC's response, however, are urgently needed. Checks earmarked “Haiti Earthquake 2010” can also be sent to: CRWRC-US, 2850 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49560. Phone 1-800-55-CRWRC. DONATE ONLINE |
Sunday School is in full swing!! Sunday school is for all ages - 3 through adult. The Nursery is available year round for babies up to 3 years old, and there are always Activity Bags for the children to use during the morning worship. Find them in the church lobby.
The local church council has approved supporting "Nuevo Comienzo" (New Beginning) a new Spanish language ministry here in Beaver Dam, by allowing them to use our building for their 1:00 PM Sunday worship and for other special services they might have. The group has been meeting in a nearby apartment complex and has about 15- 20 regular attendees. They are also, in part, supported by Faith Bible Church in Waupun. Magda Acosta, the church planter, welcomes any of our members who would like to attend a service or help with Nursery/Children's Worship.
Sunday evening Bible study at 6:00 PM at church. We will be using the book Revive Us Again, by Walter C. Kaiser Many of us have spoken to each other about the need for revival in our nation-- about our declining morality and increased social problems. What is needed to change this? This study will look at the revivals in the Bible to see what we can learn from them as to how we can seek revival in our own time. The book will be available for purchase from the Vineyard. While it is helpful to have the book, it is not required. Just bring your Bible.
Book review: It only takes a look at the evening news for us to realise that there is much wrong with this world of ours. The sins of Greed, Lust, Violence and Corruption are rife in all sections of our society. Christians are becoming at best an irrelevance and at worst a persecuted minority. Walter C Kaiser Jr. suggests the one answer to these pressing problems, revival. Not a foot-stomping, soul- saving series of meetings, but an individual believer's refocusing on God as the centre of life. With his usual scholarship and vision Dr Walter C. Kaiser Jr. reveals spiritual principles inherent in the great awakenings of the Bible and shows us how to prepare the way for revival today. Revivals like those led by Moses and by John the Baptist provides us with clear examples of what God can do when His sovereign will is acknowledged and obeyed. Read this book and help prepare the way for revival in your community, your church and most importantly your heart.
